How to choose without marketing fog
Pick the platform you will click correctly under stress. If your entire playbook is MT4 EAs, stay on MT4. If you want cleaner order lists and depth tools for discretionary FX, try cTrader on demo. If you need MT5's multi-asset layout for the instruments you trade, use MT5. Do not open three funded accounts "just in case" and then lose track of margin.
Account type (Standard vs Raw+) can interact with platform choice and cost. Measure round-turn on your symbols during your session. Cost page: spreads. Funding size: minimum deposit.
Australia setup tips
Match platform timezone and session templates to Sydney/Melbourne wall clocks if that helps your journal. Server time on the broker may still be set to a European offset. Do not confuse chart time with economic calendar time. RBA and US data releases hit different clock faces; label your alerts carefully.
Mobile apps help for monitoring. Serious order entry still belongs on a stable desktop session when size is large. VPS use is common for EAs; that is your ops choice, not a broker promise of uptime.

Execution expectations
No platform guarantees fill quality. Slippage widens in thin liquidity and around data. cTrader depth tools help you see the book; they do not force the market to fill your fantasy price. MT4/MT5 EAs fail for the same reasons they always fail: bad assumptions, bad VPS, and size that outruns depth.
If your edge needs a specific platform feature, confirm that feature is enabled on the account type and entity you open. Marketing pages list the stack. Your login lists what you actually get. Demo first: demo.
Multi-platform mess
Running MT4 and cTrader funded accounts at once without a written reason creates reconciliation debt. Pick one primary platform for discretionary work. Keep a second only if an EA or a specific instrument set requires it. Wallet transfers between accounts still need margin awareness.

Security hygiene
Download installers only from official FxPro sources linked inside Direct. Enable two-factor authentication where offered. Do not share investor passwords in Telegram "signal" groups. Remote access tools on a funded machine are an ops risk, not a flex.

Indicators and junk risk
Third-party indicators and "signal" EAs are a common account drain. Prefer tools you understand. Test any EA on demo with realistic spreads before live. VPS uptime is your ops problem.
